SpeechEasy
– a technology based on an ECU discovery, received national
attention
SpeechEasy, a technology
based on an ECU discovery, receives national attention from John Williams, a
noted authority on assisted technologies. He refers to the technology as “the
simplest and most effective fluency device that I have ever used”. John,
who has stuttered for more than 50 years, was recently fitted with the
technology in response to outreach from the T2Bridge program. He now wears
SpeechEasy on a daily basis and has noticed significant improvement in the
fluency of his speech. “The SpeechEasy has increased my fluency on the
telephone and in small groups. In speaking to people over the telephone, I
have been told, without my asking, that I am fluent. In each situation, the
less I stutter, the more work is produced. One of the benefits of increased
fluency is an increase in my energy level. Stuttering tires me, and the less
I stutter the less tired I am.
